The Department of the Environment and Heritage, trading as Environment Australia, replaced the Department of the Environment on October 21, 1998. The Department controls agencies such as the Bureau of Meteorology, Antarctic Division, Australian Heritage Commission and Environmental Protection Authority. In late 2003, the Department ceased using the trading name, Environment Australia, and was known only as the Department of the Environment and Heritage. In January 2007 the Department of the Enviroment and Heritage changed its name to the Dept. of the Environment and Water Resources. On 3 December 2007, The Department of Environment and Water Resources changed its name to the Department of the Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts.Works by these bodies are entered under the name used at the time of publication
