On 10 Oct. 1994 the Senate Standing Committee on Industry, Science, Technology, Transport, Communications and Infrastructure changed into two committees, the Senate Economics Legislation Committee, and, Senate Economics References Committee. On September 11, 2006 the 2 committees combined to form the Standing Committee on Economics. On 13 May 2009, the Senate resolved to restructure its committee system. As a result the Standing Committee on Economics was split (back) into two separate committees: the Economics Legislation Committee and the Economics References Committee.
