In July 1982 the Division of Land Use Research of the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization changed its name to Division of Water and Land Resources and on 1 June 1987, to Division of Water Resources Research. In January 1988 the Division changed its name to Division of Water Resources. In September 1997 the Division of Environmental Mechanics, the Division of Soils and the Division of Water Resources combined to become Land and Water. Works by these bodies are found under the name used at the time of publication
