On 2 June 1941 New South Wales. Dept. of Local Government and Housing split into New South Wales . Dept. of Local Government, and, New South Wales. Dept. of Housing. In 1981 New South Wales. Dept. of Local Government was abolished and its functions assumed by the newly created New South Wales. Dept. of Local Government and Lands. In February 1984 the Dept. of Local Government and Lands split to form the Dept. of Lands and a new Dept. of Local Government. On July 1 1991 the Dept of Local Government changed its name to the Dept. of Local Government and Co-Operatives. In 1995 the Dept. of Local Government and Co-Operatives changed its name to Dept. of Local Government. Works by these bodies are entered under the name used at the time of publication
