In 1901 the state churches, while retaining some autonomy, entered into a federal union as the Presbyterian Church of Australia. Therefore both state and national forms of name are used concurrently. In 1912 a temporary union was also made between the Presbyterian Church of Victoria and the Presbyterian Church of Tasmania. Works by these bodies are found under the official name used in the publication
