On 4 April, 1996, the Department of Health and Community Services changed its name to the Department of Human Services. On 12 August 2009 the Department of Health was created effectively separating from this department. On 1 January 2015, the Victorian Government established the Department of Health and Human Services, bringing together the former Department of Health, Department of Human Services and Sport and Recreation Victoria.
