The Whitney Studio was established in 1914. In 1928 the Whitney Studio and the Whitney Studio Club (founded 1918) were replaced by the Whitney Studio Galleries, which was succeeded by the Whitney Museum of American Art, opened in 1931. Works by these bodies are found under the name used at the time of publication
