A novella about 7 bushwalkers on a 12 day trek on a remote trail starting in The Blue Mountains and ending in Canberra, a trek pitched as a journey to the heart of Australian life and culture. Barry Flack, tour guide, well meaning but clumsy, suffers an accident early and loses his vision. The group must elect a new leader. The two candidates are Bull Longmore, Eastern Suburbs businessman, and Suniti Krishnatri, overseas student and part time waitress, all before things get a lot lot worse.
