- Summary:
-
Robert Stanley White (also known as Scamp White) was a cattle dealer and station owner, and prominent in racing circles, who owned Eskdale Station in the Brisbane Valley from 1931 until his death in 1951. He was the second son and sixth child in a family of eight born to Robert & Bertha White at Gosford in 1889. The real story of Scamp White is a story of race fixing and intimidation; unsavoury "business" dealings, widespread corruption that made Scamp White a central figure in a Royal Commission five years after his death, and fraud, tax evasion and arson.
