- Summary:
-
"Softening of the stone" is a metaphorical phrase that represents the process of transforming something rigid and unyielding into something more malleable and expressive. In the context of my poetry, it refers to the act of sculpting hard, rough forms and shaping them into artistic creations that reflect various aspect of life. My book highlights the power of art, particularly poetry, in revealing emotions and thoughts that may not be readily expressed in everyday life. By crafting verse, the poetry softens the stone, metaphorically chiselling away at the barriers that often conceal these inner sentiments. The verses cover a range of subjects that can be explored through art, such as joyful memories, forgotten treasures, unique and interesting characters, sports, hobbies and leisure. Poems celebrating the diversity of life's experiences, capturing moments of action, colour, and humour whilst also acknowledging the depth and reflection that can be found in solemn topics. Australia's landscape, flora, and fauna are specifically mentioned. The imagery presented showcases the beauty of nature as well as man-made creations, that create the mosaic of life." --Back cover.
