"Barbara Adams (nee Clift) is the eldest child of Myrtle Clift (nee Ware). She was born in January 1934 at Kinkora Private Maternity Hospital in Queanbeyan, with a short time in West Wyalong during WWII, attending Gregory's school. Family trips to Bredbo in school holidays maintained close connections to Myrtle's relations. Barbara's father, Patrick, volunteered for the British Commonwealth Occupation Forces in Japan in 1948. At the age of 14, Barbara became her mother's confidante and collected many stories from Myrtle over the following decades."--Back cover
