Published in association with the 'I, Object' touring exhibition, which considered the many complex relationships Indigenous Australian artists have to objects - from the histories informing their creation to the social and cultural consequences of their collection. The exhibition demonstrated the great pride and inspiration of inherited cultural practices and historical Indigenous objects, and revealed the difficulties posed by their collection and estrangement from their intended purposes. The exhibition featured art created by Danie Mellor, Fiona Foley, Michael Boiyool Anning, Jennifer Herd, d harding, Craig Koomeeta, Alair Pambegan, Tony Albert, Vernon Ah Kee, Christian Thompson, Naomi Hobson, Warraba Weatherall and others.
