Kandy Krush : Mirella Castle investigates / Mandy Partridge

Kandy MacRobertson has finally made it as a techno musician and toured Australia, despite her manager marketing her as a trans artist. When Mirella finds her murdered, Officer Frank Marlin turns their Brisbane share-house, and their lives, upside down. Now every friend from the Music scene and University who attended the party is a suspect. Mirella can see that the officer is overworked and couldn't care, so she starts her own investigation. Kandy's partner Steen wants justice too, and is prepared to join the Hell's Angels to make that happen. Aboriginal housemate Shayna also helps, posing as bait when Marlin reels in suspects for DNA tests. When Shayna attends an Indigenous Students' conference, a Native American runs a Sweat Lodge, and Shayna recalls a vital clue which helps catch the murderer. Mirella makes a connection in Sydney, while Steen follows advice from Bangkok, to confront a rich psychopath who likes to play God.
