"The impetus for the research investigations detailed in this report originated from the LGBTIQ Special Interest Group of the New South Wales Teachers Federation (NSWTF). From members' own experiences, and that of other gender and sexuality-diverse teachers they know, members of the Special Interest Group were aware of anecdotal accounts of discrimination and disadvantage experienced by this cohort of educators.
