Summary:

In 1998, the SA Museum allowed composer Becky Llewellyn with Major and Betty Sumner, Ngarrindjeri leaders, to loosely transcribe seven traditional Ngarrindjeri songs sung by Milerum (Clarence Long) to Norman Tindale on wax cylinder recordings in 1932. Milerum was one of the few children who escaped mission school at Raukkan, so learned the dialects and stories from many of the language groups on Ngarrindjeri homelands of the Coorong and was a key informant to Tindale.
