- Summary:
-
John Kinsella's poem forms the basis of the text, but the composer distorts the words as if hearing in another language or mishearing accidently or on purpose. As the First Nations people and settlers did not understand each other's conventions of life and society, this piece has been set in an Elizabethan arch style for an a capella quartet that demonstrates that the settlers came with intent to not listen and to steal, murder or do whatever it took to dominate. --From publisher supplied note.
