Kathy Griffiths is "by no means a celebrity", but her life story is an interesting and familiar one, particularly for women in science and academia in Australia. As part of ANU's Centre for Mental Health Research, Kathy helped improve the lives of countless people, winning tens of millions of dollars in research funding with her colleagues. They carried out innovative, impactful, and influential research into e-mental health, collaborating with prestigious institutions across the globe, and delivering benefit to hundreds of thousands of sufferers around the world. As well as her academic career, the author - who is also her partner of almost fifty years - provides an "entertaining and accurate but not necessarily complete" account of Kathy's life. From family history and family life, to her own health and mental health, as well as hobbies and world travel, this comprehensive and personal narrative is a wonderful snapshot into a greatly accomplished and entirely relatable Australian.
