This memoir is a resume of recollections taken from the Casey 1969 diaries of Syd Little (Glaciology Assistant), Quentin Blades (Met Observer), John 'Nobby' Gillies (Senior Radio Technician) and the incomplete diaries of the author Robert, Bob Innes (Senior Carpenter), who wintered together at the then new Casey Station in Antarctica as part of the 1969 ANARE expeditions. It touches briefly on events from when the author first joined ANARE on 30th September 1968, covering early training around Melbourne with a short history of ANARE and its place in Australian Antarctic history.
