-
"Centred around the town of Norseman in Western Australia's south-west corner, is the Ngadju People's nation. The Ngadju language is severely endangered but there is strong determination to ensure is is strengthened and spoken fluently into the future. Ngadju language expresses Ngadju self identity. Those are the people of the Great Western Woodland through to the Nullabor, and the language reflects this varied landscape. A great deal of work has been undertaken to record and recover Ngadju language. This dictionary is a tradition Ngadju edition and is filled with words that are verified as being the traditional form of the Ngadju language. A second edition is underway which will include rejuvenated vocabulary, to fill in the spaces were words have been lost. This dictionary contains: ● Around 2,000 Ngadju words. ● A Ngadju to English dictionary. ● An English to Ngadju Finder list to help locate words easily. ● Example sentences to illustrate word use. ● Information on the alphabet and a sketch grammar of how the sentences work. The Ngadju Dictionary is ideal for families, students, teachers, community staff, in fact anyone who is interested in using and learning the Ngadju language. The Ngadju Dictionary is easy to use and easy to read."--Back cover.
