- Summary:
-
"This book tells the story of John McGuiness, an Irish Convict who arrived in Australia in 1826 on the "Regalia" and his wife Mary Connor who arrived as a free immigrant from Ireland around 1842. The book attempts to determine where John and Mary's families originated from in Ireland. It follows the lives of John and Mary, and their ten children as they move to the Turon, Weddin and Bushman's Goldfields. The book looks at the growth of Sofala , Grenfell and Parkes, and the role of the McGuiness family within them. The book attempts to not only tell the stories of John and Mary's children, but also their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. This book would be of interest to any descendants of John and Mary (Connor) McGuiness."--Back cover.
