Linda White studied law and commerce at University of Melbourne and worked as a solicitor from 1985 to 1994. She was the Assistant National Secretary of the Australian Services Union from 1995 to 2020, and was elected to the Australian Labor Party National Executive in 2006. In 2022 White was elected as Senator for Victoria, and passed away whilst in office on 29 February 2024. Her career of 40 years focussed on advocacy, with the principles of fairness and equity underpinning the way she approached her work.
