The collection is mainly newspaper clippings but includes some pamphlets and correspondence. The entire collection relates to the 1951 Referendum on communism and is background research for Professor Webb's book -Communism and Democracy in Australia : a survey of the 1951 Referendum. (The rest of Professor Webb's papers were burnt in a warehouse fire in the 1960s. The collection is organized into subject files and includes files on Dr. Evatt, Senator McKenna, Arthur Calwell, Eddie Ward and the Council for Civil Liberties).
