MS 2031 consists of the minutes of the Executive, financial records proceedings of seminars and conferences, press cuttings, and individual issues of journals - such as "Encounter" (London), "The Bulletin" (Sydney), and the Association's occasional newsletters and bulletins. The correspondence deals with such issues as the Hungarian uprising in 1956; the Orr Case; the Stuart Case; and other matters of intellectual, academic, political and cultural freedom. Letters to and from such prominent academics, writers and publicists as Donald Horne, James McAuley, Frank Knopfelmacher, Henry Mayers, and R.N. Spann are included as the matters of cultural interest such as the foundation and editing of the journal "Quadrant" (Sydney) with the sponsorship of the Association; and the 1958 visit of Malcolm Muggeridge to Australia (16 boxes).

Founded 6 June 1954 and until 1957 known as the Australian Committee for Cultural Freedom. An affiliated member of the International Association for Cultural Freedom (Founded 1950 and until 1967 known as the Congress for Cultural Freedom).
