Submissions to the task force numbered 1-124. Missing nos: 33, 41, 46, 61, 64, 70, 71, 74 and 76. Submissions were made by Government and private sources. Later additions include submissions 125-142, NSTF/7/Sub 65 Part 4 and 159, NSTF/7/Sub 88 Part 2.

The Task Force was set up in 1977 to inquire into all aspects related to a national communications satellite system for Australia. Chairman was Mr. H. White and he was assisted by officers from Postal and Telecommunications Dept., the Departments of Finance, Defence, Transport and Health, the Australian Telecommunications Commission and the Overseas Telecommunications Commission.
