The collection consists mainly of correspondence, photographs and newspaper clippings relating to the Stewart and Jamieson families. There are copies of family trees, the last will of Major General Stewart, prayer books and handwritten notes on the families history and various trips made overseas in the last century.
- Biography/History:

Major General William Stewart (1769-1854) arrived in Australia in 1825 and in 1833 moved with his family to Bathurst and took over the Mount Pleasant estate, one of the best known properties in N.S.W. His son, James Horne Stewart, continued to manage the property. Lillian Stewart, a daughter of J.H. Stewart married Dr. Sydney Jamieson and their son, Stewart Jamieson (1903-1975) was a senior Australian diplomat of the 1950s and 1960s.
