Mr Taylor talks about his memories of Tasmania: family history, life in the old days, being practically self-sufficient, sheep, walls two feet thick, tutors but no local schools, Launceston Grammar, convict labour, building of dry-stone dykes, trouble with Aborigines, shearing with blades, entertainment at show time, dancing, songs around the piano, Longfellow and Tennyson popular.
