MS 52 consists chiefly of correspondence, semi-official and private, mostly concerning Australia's administrative activities and interests in Great Britain, the Pacific Islands, particularly the New Hebrides, Papua and the Northern Territory. Main correspondents include - A. M. Campbell, J. H. P. Murray, Staniforth Smith, Rev. Frank Paton, Merton King, Judge T. E. Roseby, Capt. R. Muirhead Collins, Sir Charles Lucas, H. C. Smart, Sir G. Le Hunte, A. E. Carey, M. V. Murphy, Sir Edmund Barton, J. O'Neill Brenan, E. L. Batchelor, P. McMahon Glynn, Hugh Mahon, Col. James Burns and W. H. Lucas (of Burns Philp and Co. Ltd.), Alfred Deakin, T. R. Bavin, Sir John Forrest and Sir L. E. Groom. There is also a small quantity of miscellaneous printed material, press cuttings and photographs (7 boxes).
