Drysdale, widow of Russell Drysdale, talks about her family background; childhood memories; schooling; art lessons; place of religion in family; meeting Drysdale; George Bell school; views on Modernism; painting of nudes; women artists; paintings of Australiana and memories of Maie Casey; Frances Burke and Mary Cecil Allen. She then describes living in London in late 1930s; returning to Australia and working at Angus and Mullens and U.S. Information Library and impact of WWII. Drysdale then discusses her marriage in 1946 to Peter Purves-Smith and his death in 1949 and his paintings. She then talks about living in London for a year; returning to Australia and gaining library qualifications; working in bookshop "The Austral" and then being the children's librarian at Camberwell. Drysdale then talks about her marriage to Russell Drysdale; experiences overseas; George Johnston and Charmian Clift; Russell Drysdales' early history and origin of name "Tass" and his death in 1981 and her travel experiences.
