"Alice Crawford. Born in Sydney (no date given!), but played with the Wilson Barrett Company in Australia in 1901-2 and returned with that company to London. Worked first in the West End with Barrett then in a succession of successful plays, including many Shakespearean roles. Worked with Beerbohm Tree's Company, including the Shakespearean Festival of 1907. Toured America in 'These are my people' in 1909, returning to London in 1911"--Vendor's note.
