Milius narrates the voyage of the "Naturaliste", his stay in N.S.W., his voyage to China and thence to the Ille de France, his appointment to the "Geographe" after the death of Baudin and the voyage of the "Geographe". The manuscript also includes a French-Malay vocabulary, a Kaffir-French-Dutch vocabulary and a French translation of a Dutch account of a voyage to New Guinea by the sloop "Walingen" in 1663.

Seaman. Second in command of the French corvette Naturaliste on voyage to Australia, 1800-1802. Landed sick in Sydney 1802. Sailed from Sydney on American ship Arthur for China, thence for France 1803 on La Diane. Appointed to command the Geographe, 1803 Sept., returned to L'Orient 1804.
