5 letters from the records of the O.B.F. which were written by C.J. Abraham, first Bishop of Wellington to E. Hawkins, Secretary of the Society, for the Propagation of the Gospel. The letters describe the Maori War, the native land question and the lack of charity among European settlers towards the Maoris as well as reporting on Church matters. The letter dated 31 Dec. 1860 describes a visitation to Taranaki. Also included is a note by Miss Mander Jones about the letters.
