- Summary:
-
Humorous address arguing that Australian journalism and politics have become too serious, in particular economics and economic policy. Mr. Mike Carlton, media personality, reviewed the 1950s where Menzies governed without an understanding of economics. He traced the continuation of this trend from 1950-75, at which period the new "serious" era commenced under Fraser with Lynch and Howard as Federal Treasurers.
