- Inscriptions: "Cook, James. Captain. 32 [sic.] slides referring to the life and voyages of Captain James Cook. 1. Map of the world, 5 portraits of Captain Cook, 1 portrait of Sir Joseph Banks, 1 monument to Captain Cook on Easby Hill, 1 tombstone of Cook's family at Ayton. The rest belong to Captain Cook's birthplace and the places where he resided also to his voyages to the South Seas. His death. These slides belonged to the late F.M. Bladen, Principal Librarian of Public and Mitchell Libraries & editor of the Historical Record of New South Wales. Presented to the Library of the Commonwealth by Miss Hendy-Pooley, 1925." -- typed on paper, glued to the box lid, with the heading "Commonwealth Parliamentary Library [partly torn away], Melbourne, ...19...".
