- Summary:

Collection of photographs taken on the second of the two journeys described in Groom's 'I saw a strange land', in August 1947. Groom made the journey on foot, from Areyonga Mission, via Tempe Downs, Reedy Creek, Lake Amadeus, Ayers Rock (Uluru) and the Olgas (Kata Tjuta), Mount Conner Station, Angas Downs, Mount Quinn Station to Henbury Station. For the journey to Ayers Rock he was accompanied by three native guides - Talkajyerie (Tiger), Tamalji and Njunowa - who are shown in many of the photographs, and four camels.
