Peters, a farmer, describes his grandfather as a teamster who settled on a small block, sufficent to feed his teams, a typical pattern to small town development, there was an influx of Victorian farmers in the 1920s but in the 1930s most were generally broke, how his father and uncle bought properties, stocking and development of their grazing land, farming development in the last 15 years and comparing them with his own work as a boy, what constitutes a suitable block of land for grazing or wheat farming, water dependent on bores and irrigation systems, how pasture has changed, his views on the lease system, his own education and experiences, joined the local Army at Yanco, the effect of television and video on rural life.
