Recounts the life of Kwong Sue Duk who after working as a youth in the Californian goldfields, returned to China to marry in 1874 and then following the birth of his firs t child set out again in 1875 to work the Northern Territory goldfields. This allowed him to establish a general store in Palmerstone trading under the business name Sun Mow Loong and marry two other wives. By 1889 he brought out his first wife also and together they raised 12 children, later including a fourth wife and expanding to 26 children. His business became famous for the supply of chinese herbal medicines. The oldest of the Kwong family recall memories of his philosophy and hopes for the family.
