MS 9496 comprises papers that mainly relate to Grant's biography of Kingsley Partridge. The papers include a photocopy of Partridge's journal, handwritten notes, a typescript of Camel train & aeroplane and a card index to Partridge's journal created by Grant (2 boxes, 1 fol. box).
The Acc10.167 instalment comprises transcripts of interviews conducted by Grant as part of his research for his book Camel train & aeroplane: the story of Skipper Partridge (1 folder).
The Acc12.025 instalment comprises extensive personal and business correspondence relating to Grant's time as first minister at Flynn Memorial Church in Alice Springs in 1956-1958. Included are telegrams, letters and official correspondence with organisations including, but not limited to, the Australian Inland Mission of the Presbyterian Church of Australia, the Far North Children's Health Scheme and the Aborigines Department of South Australia. Also included are accounting and administrative records, a notebook containing Grant's personal notes on the History of the United Church in Northern Australia (ca. 1956) and a transcript of Grant's "By the way" (programs one to five), which was aired on ABC Radio (1 box).

Presbyterian minister, Army chaplain and author. Archibald Wesley (Arch) Grant was born at Timaru, New Zealand on 5 February 1911. As a clergyman, he held various positions with the Australian Inland Mission in the Northern Territory and New South Wales. He became an AIF chaplain, serving in the Northern Territory, New Guinea and Borneo between 1941 and 1946. He was also a minister at the John Flynn Memorial Church in Alice Springs, 1956-1960, and an executive member of the Australian Council of Churches, 1966-1967. In 1977 Grant received a British Empire Medal (Civil) for service to the community. As an author, he wrote four books: Camel train & aeroplane: the story of Skipper Partridge (1981), Palmerston to Darwin: 75 years service on the frontier (1990), Australia's frontline matron, Edith McQuade White (1991), and, Aliens in Arnhem Land (1995). Grant died in Sydney in 2005.
Presbyterian minister. Kingsley Foster ("Skipper") Partridge, MBE, was born in 1892 and died in 1976. He was an outback Presbyterian minister and a long time friend and partner of Dr John Flynn, founder of the Australian Inland Mission.
