- An attack on Sandwich for his failure to accord the author's father, J.R. Forster, the writing of the official account of Cook's second voyage.
- National Library of Australia's SRq COOK 17 copy (Petherick) inscribed on the original front wrapper 'Geo. Forster' and has underlining and marginal notes throughout; plate of a caricature entitled "The German doctor with his family on his travels to England conducted by Mynheer Shinder-Knecht" which was was sold by J. Williams, bookseller and printed by Robinson bound to rear.
