Drake-Brockman grew up on her father's cattle stations in Western Australia. She speaks about A.O. Neville, the Chief Protector of Natives from 1915 to 1940, who was a family friend and about his policies towards Aboriginal people. Drake-Brockman also talks about the removal of children on the stations and about the policy of assimilation.
