- Summary:

1) Letters 1838-55 from George Everett in northern New South Wales to his family in England describing the family selection, mentioning bushrangers, trouble with Chinese employees, gold digging and the expansion of "Ollera" station. 2) Three photographs of the Everett family at Tenterfield, New South Wales. 3) Thesis by A.V. Cane entitled "Ollera 1838 to 1900; a study of a sheep station" (M.A. thesis, University of Sydney, 1949).
- Biography/History:

George Everett and his brother John (1816-1902) arrived in Sydney in 1838 on the ship Hope. At the end of that year they took up a selection "Ollera", north of Armidale in the New England district of New South Wales. In 1842 they were joined by their young brother Edwin (1822-1909). George returned to England about 1856 but still retained his interest in the station while John returned in 1858 and managed the sale of "Ollera" wool in London.
