King provides many details of domestic life under unusual circumstances, such as travelling with her husband, a tank sinker and contractor, for 5 years in a specially built 'caravan'. She also talks about her work as housemaid in several local hotels and as nursemaid on Mt. Stuart. This work was done from 1925-1932.
