Summary:

The collection consists of a diary for the year 1937 written by Aileen Palmer while in Spain during the Spanish Civil War, as well as a letter from Palmer to Mrs Thora Craig, written on 5th May, 1966.

Biography/History:

Born in 1915; one of two children of the writers Vance and Nettie Palmer. She graduated with Honours in Arts from the University of Melbourne, spent from 1935 until 1946 in Europe (1935-1937 in Spain). Many of her later years were spent in various hospitals in Victoria.
