Helen Hartmann, retired teacher and historian, was born 1940 at Tenterfield, N.S.W. She recalls her family's background, having parents of German descent; the assimialtion of her family and a story about internment during the WWII; her parents buying a sheep farm at Dundee, N.S.W.; correspondence schooling at 7 years of age; the family moving to Tenterfield; her school years at Tenterfield; completing a BA Dip Ed at Armidale University; various teaching postings throughout N.S.W.; her overseas trip to England; in 1996 becoming involved with the Tenterfield Railway Musuem. She speaks about the local rail system and the demise of the rail line in 1986; future aspirations for the museum.
