Chris Kempster, retired teacher, author, composer and builder, has contributed to the development of Australian folk literature, theatre and music. He recalls his involvement in: Unity Singers (musical group); Margaret Walkers' Unity Dancers; Reedy River (1950s -folk theatre production); The Bushwhackers (original musical group); The Rambleers (musical group); Bush Music Club (formed in 1954); Sydney University Folk Society; other ensembles such as The Radiation Quartette, The Rousebouts, The Larrikins. Kempster also speaks about his family background ; his political beliefs and how this interest led to his association with some well known names in Australian society; the Eureka Youth League; his career as a teacher.
