Sonobuoy data is regularly obtained using the RAAF P-3C aircraft during DSTO trials. This data is recorded on the aircraft using 28 track AQH4 tapes and needs to be transcribed onto CDs for storage and analysis. The method used to transcribe analogue sonobuoy data was recently upgraded. This document describes the equipment used and the steps involved in transcribing this data.
