- Biography/History:

Sir George O'Brien Wyndham, third Earl of Egremont (1751-1837) was a successful stock-breeder at Petworth and patron of art. After his death Petworth passed to his kinsmen Colonel George Wyndham (1789-1869), who was created Baron Leconfield in 1859.
