Also includes 18th century Malay and Sumatran manuscripts and notebooks of William Dawes re languages spoken in the Sydney area ca. 1790. 2) Sydney Herbert Ray Collection. Vocabularies of Pacific languages; letters, 1891-93; and notes. 3) Index to A. Dalrymple's collection of maps and list of the contents of his memoirs; official documents 1808 of Henry Dundas, 1st Viscount Melville; two vocabularies of the Torres Strait Islands and the New Hebrides; C.G. Seligmann and G. Pim, "Vocabulary of the language of the Ottai tribe, Queensland".
