Collection of archives concerning the Australian voyages of SS Great Britain, her passengers and crew assembled by the SS Great Britain Project. Contains: 1. Passenger's diaries and accounts of voyages, 1952-76. 2. Crew lists, 1852-74. 3. Extracts from logs, 1858 and 1872. 4. Minutes of evidence taken before the Board of Inquiry into the collision between the Great Britain and the Oscar between Cape Otway and Port Phillip Heads, 1850. 5. Tickets, posters, etc. 1861-73. 6. Australian and Eastern Navigation Co. Ltd., 1863. 7. Diaries of Joseph Blake on voyages to New Zealand, 1907-1908. 8. "Captain John Grey (1819-1872) : master of SS Great Britain", / Gerald H. Roberts, 1969.

SS Great Britain was launched in 1843. From 1850-1876 she carried passengers and cargo between Australia and England.
