MS Acc00.248 comprises 63 diaries, 1938-1996, "Happenings and ideas", sermons and speeches in alpha files, cuttings albums, certificates and tributes, 80th birthday greetings and correspondence.
The Acc01.007 instalment includes correspondence, sermons, congratulations on knighthood, diary 1996, photographs, cuttings, typescript history of the Sydney Central Methodist Mission, typescript of "World evangelism: Alan Walker's diary of a world movement and a decade of global evangelism, 1978-1987", and many cassettes, reel tapes and videos, and bound issues of periodicals.
- Biography/History:

Theologian and evangelist. The Rev. Dr Sir Alan Walker was Superintendent of the Methodist Wesley Mission in Sydney, 1958-1978, and first world director of evangelism for the World Methodist Council, 1978 to 1988. In March 1963 Walker established the telephone counselling service Life Line. He was Principal of the Pacific College of Evangelism, now the Alan Walker College of Evangelism in Sydney, 1982-1995. Walker was also a social justice progressive, leading crusades against the Cold War, Vietnam War, "White Australia" policy and apartheid in South Africa.
