The collection consists of recordings relating to songs, music, yarns, children's rhymes amd games, superstitions, social activities and community organisations.

Biography/History:

Helen O'Shea spent over twelve months, from 8 February 1989 until 14 March 1990, living in the township of Ecklin South, Victoria. She recorded interviews with the town's inhabitants about social life, local folklore and history covering the period 1900 to 1989 in an attempt to reveal the social fabric of life in a small rural community.
